The birthday of Kadriorg Castle and Park Ensemble is celebrated every year on July 22, as it was on this day in 1718 that Russian Tsar Peter I and Italian architect Nicola Michetti arrived and determined the general principles of the location and planning of the future castle and park. This year marks 302 years since the founding of Kadriorg. On July 22, 2000, after the restoration, the Museum of Foreign Art was reopened in Kadriorg Castle
